Homeward Bound
A clean fire and a short train will see this local returning home on time today! An early era can be a great choice for a layout, with smaller cars and locos, and a wide variety of operations and trackside facilities. Train Life takes us back to the 1890s with this excellent scene!

Not every diesel on the railroad has couplers! Modern maintenance fleets rely on all types of highway trucks and off-road equipment to get the job done. Darin Umlauft shares this action shot along one of his HO modules.

A Busy Corner
There’s a lot of action at this city’s elevated commuter station. The Chevy Impala taxi cab, General Motors “New Look” bus, and Amtrak Amfleet coach set this HO scene firmly in the 1980s. Thanks to @martintakespics92 for sharing this image of his railroad.

While the rest of the city may have quieted down, there's no rest for the railroad. The humid night air is filled with stop-and-go sounds as a GP7 digs in to move another cut of cars in this scene by @santafemodelrailroad.
