Welcome aboard the first edition of The Modelers Interchange! We're taking a little different track with our new feature, showcasing some of the amazing work modelers just like you have been sharing on our social media sites over the last week. Got a project you'd like to share, but not already coupled up to our online community? Just click here and enjoy!
Barriers Guide the Way
Railside trucking operations are big business needing clear direction of traffic. User @uprrgensub shared a video of his layout with hundreds of barriers fastened to the pavement with some excellent work done on adding realistic asphalt cracks. Check it out!
Going – Going – Gons
Here’s a fantastically modeled, compact Ferrocarril Central Andino model with lots of variation in elevation by @choo_chooho. An impressive railroad modeled in a tight space from our friends in the southern hemisphere!
Down and Dirty
Other than dust and an occasional fingerprint, our models don't get nearly as dirty as real equipment - but we can fix that! Paints, powders, decals and more are available to take equipment from clean to mean quickly and easily, like this neat WalthersMainline® tanker painting project from @caroll_photography_25. Check out the photos other modelers posted and share your projects here!
Service Underway
Currently under construction, @milwaukeeroadhoscale‘s new engine servicing facility is well on its way towards completion. Incorporating both a 2-Stall Engine House and Industry Office he’s working on the finishing touches to really make it come to life. Check out the layout and the excellently-modeled individual components on his page.
Buried Train Treasure
X might not mark the spot, but there could be buried treasure waiting to be rediscovered in your train room! That’s what happened to @southern.pacific.lines.n.scale recently, when a mysterious box revealed some long-lost models. Check out his back on track video here, and tell us what you've found!
