Modelers Interchange 04-24-20

Friday is a time to relax and celebrate the end of another week. Walthers does so by surfing our social media channels for some of the most interesting and well-discussed posts from the last 7 days to share with you. Challenge breeds creativity and that creativity has been evidenced by your recent posts! Just click here and enjoy! Got a project you'd like to share? Working 9 to 5 You're probably not really missing your morning commute, but it would be more fun if we could ride Alex Desimone's HO models! These Walthers Pullman-Standard bi-level cars have extra details and a little dirt for ultimate realism. The Charms of Rust Funny how rust, the bane of workshops and sheds in real life, carries a certain charm when it comes to our model layouts. Extra aging brings a sense of use, like a real lived-in place. @trainguyslicer provides an excellent example just finished for his coal mine model.
Smaller is Better Small layouts and limited spaces can become amazing mini-scenes! Check out the many little extras that transform this trackside business, built by Jordan Torregrosa, into a superdetailed model. Work to be Done From quarry to harbor, when work needs doing, sturdy gondolas are up to the task. Ten images are shared below from a recent North Conway Model Railroad Club ops session. Each photo draws you into the scene, shot with a railfan’s keen eye towards focus and detail. Thanks for posting @ncmodelrrclub!
Gotta Catch ‘em All! When asked which railroad is your favorite to model, several professions of love for one road or another emerged, most accompanied by photos of equipment from their home roster. Poster Mark Bekker could not bring himself to pick just one, showing his love for all the various roads in his F7 collection.
Each week we’re witnessing some amazing modeling work on display, which is critical in these extraordinary times. Keep modeling and keep sharing. Your work is an inspiration to us and to others as well. And be sure to tag @Walthers or use the hashtag #Walthers for a chance to be featured!
