Modelers Interchange 06-12-20

We continue to be amazed at the quality and complexity found in recent modeling posts. As Spring wanes and Summer rises, so does the level of the modeling being showcased. In preparation for another great weekend we’ve collected a handful of the most interesting and well-discussed social posts from the last 7 days through our Facebook page and Instagram as shared below. Behind the Scenes Another day of operations comes to a close, but the work is far from done along Joel Moore's line. No word on what's in the shop tonight, but it looks like the lights will be burning late! Big Fun with Small Railroads We all dream of having unlimited room for our layouts, but lots of short lines are just as much fun to model and perfect for small spaces. Inspired by Pennsylvania's Stewartstown Railroad, this scene by Robert Mountenay looks like a great place to do some serious railfanning!
Art Imitates Life Excellent custom work on display here as @customtrains displays a very well executed replica of the real thing. Displaying next to the prototype photo shows off a number of ways the model surpassed reality in artistry and technique. That New Locomotive Smell Bringing a new locomotive home and plunking it on the layout for the first time is a rush. Getting a sound & DCC-equipped engine doubles the fun when you get to hear it idle in preparation for its first run. Thanks for posting @joes2fst4umodelrr!
A Blast from Our Past Check out the awesome assembly job Eric O'Malley did on this Walthers North Shore interurban! These kits show up from time to time on the secondary market, and are a real old-school experience, with milled wood and cast metal parts.
Each week we’re witnessing some amazing modeling work on display, which is critical in these extraordinary times. Keep modeling and keep sharing. Your work is an inspiration to us and to others as well. And be sure to tag @Waltherstrains or use the hashtag #Walthers for a chance to be featured!
