With temperatures reaching into the 90s in most parts of the US, it’s a great time to enjoy cooler temperatures in basements or air-conditioned homes and clubs, all while crafting away at one’s layout. From Stored to Restored! A lot of model railroads have made a big comeback over the past few weeks! After 20 years, Jefferson Palumbo turned his N Scale layout completely around and made a lot of improvements along the way. True Grime Trailers re-purposed in late-life for alternative functions often find themselves in dire need of some TLC. This well-weathered example posted by @heeltopmusic exemplifies just that, with layers of colors and wash used to achieve a realistic grime.
A Sense of Place The way the light reflects off the pavement and the equipment stands ready for use lends a feeling of reality to @brandon_lepley’s interpretation of the Pennsy locomotive shops in Renovo. Keep up the good work! Great for Freight While most of passenger SDP45s ended up in freight service, a few roads opted for the pure freight versioning dubbed the SDF45. Michael Scott shares this view of one in action on the Montana Rail Link.
