New Product Express June 2021

The switches are lined, signals are green and our new weekly Walthers New Product Express Blog is off and running! We're soon out in the country, cutting through miles of farm fields where a bumper crop is waiting for the empties behind our engines.

Our conductor tells us we'll be switching out most of the elevators along the line today, who are eagerly waiting the arrival of the new WalthersMainline® Pullman-Standard PS-2 2893 Covered Hoppers. A signature car from the mid-1950s to early 1990s, these HO models are a must for moving grain and granular loads. These were some of the biggest cars in service when delivered, and we're offering them in eight bold, bright schemes. Signature details include round loading hatches (standard equipment when new, trough-style hatches for grain loading came later), correct 4-3-4 side ribs, plus RP-25 turned metal wheels and Proto MAX™ knuckle couplers.
