Stocking Up

Stocking Up

Labor day in the rear view, we’re stocking up the modeling room with projects that will take us through fall and winter. A great way to get new ideas for layouts, consists, and building great scenes is to enjoy others’ hard work. Walthers Instagram and Facebook pages have seen a recent influx of new contributors, each with their own style of modeling and photography techniques in demonstration. Swing on over to either page and you won’t be disappointed with what you find.

Five new modeling posts are shared below, just a small sample of what’s available through our social media pages. Got a project you'd like to share? Interested in joining the community of fellow modelers? Just click below and like or follow our pages:

For Mary
The fish don’t seem to be biting in this spot. Wonder if the fisherman should move to another location? Well… maybe after this lead unit backs into the siding. Surely the fish can wait while he enjoys the view.
Life Is Good
Swaying palm trees. Pristine-looking vehicles fresh out of the car wash. An empty parking lot showing no waiting for a seat at the Waffle House. And a Amtrak lounge car passing by filled with happy travelers. Life is pretty good on Dave Quintero’s layout.
Step on a Crack
At one time or another we’ve all played the game of avoiding cracks in the pavement, well good luck pulling that off on John Ward’s city scene! Adding cracks, tread marks and general road wear help give his layout a lived-in look.
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!
Poster @orlando_model_railroaders is doing his part to try and make Southeastern Streamliners Sunday a thing. We wish you luck with that endeavor sir! In the meantime, don’t mind us while we enjoy the royal purple of that fantastic-looking ACL E-Unit.
Keeping it Real
To some they’re an eyesore, to others they’re art. Tags like the ones @mrbuilt_ used to decorate his HO scale overpass go a long way toward portraying the real world where bridges such as these often get decorated in such stylistic fashion.

Each week we’re witnessing some amazing modeling work on display, which is critical in these extraordinary times. Keep modeling and keep sharing. Your work is an inspiration to us and to others as well. And be sure to tag @waltherstrains or use the hashtag #walthers for a chance to be featured!
