Photo Op
Poster @Chicagoland_railfan spotted Norfolk Southern no. 8163 stopped at a junction, and he also just happened to have his WalthersMainline HO scale GEVO diesel locomotive with him in his car. To commemorate this lucky accident, he stopped and took a photo of the model meeting its prototype. |
New England Memories
A vacation to Perkin’s Cove in Ogunquit, Maine, inspired this scene built by Debbie McMillan. The structures are a variety of kits as well as a scratchbuilt covered bridge. As she finishes the scenery, Debbie will be pouring resin “water” along the channel cut into the right side of the layout base.

Wall of Windows
Modeler Michaela may be seeing windows in her sleep after this project that involved installing curtains and shades in every single window of this HO scale high-rise building. Next up is adding scratchbuilt room interiors and lighting. You can see more of her projects by following @mbhmodelrailways.

Backdrop Artistry
Backdrops are a great way to add the illusion of the rest of the world beyond the layout. Modeler Alan Kleipass hand-painted this autumn scene that adds depth to his model railroad that’s built on a narrow shelf.
