Welcome to November!

Welcome to November!

Another fall Friday is here, and these shorter days mean a lot of us are starting new projects! We've got some neat scenes and new ideas to share this week, thanks to folks like you posting and sharing on social media, providing an inspiration to us all. Check out our latest finds from Facebook and Instagram at the links below!

Heavy-duty Haulers
Flatcars provide a blank canvas for interesting loads, including construction and maintenance-of-way equipment. Poster @espee.cascades went the extra mile on his cars with realistic weathering and additional details, including chains and blocking. Click on the white arrows to see a gallery of freight cars.
A Fresh Perspective
Ever wonder what your railroad looks like to the tiny folks who live and work there? Check out Eric Smith's video for an awesome brakeman's view from the caboose!
A Trip Back in Time
Prior to departing on a present-day museum excursion train, a father holds his son up on his shoulders
to admire C&O 107, a vintage
E7 streamliner
. As shown in
this example from @mountville_tennessee, modeling excursions is a great way to incorporate classic locomotives and passenger equipment into a modern-era layout. Be sure to swipe right to see a video of the train arriving.
Setting a Mood
Small scenes are a fun way to sharpen your skills, and give you a sense of accomplishment while building a bigger layout. With storm clouds closing in, better take a look at Russell Jacob's neat photo before the drops start falling!
Green Building
Ivy and other climbing plants are distinctive features found all over the country, even in urban areas. In this industrial scene modeled by @hubert.pasc, the workers seem too busy to appreciate the splash of green on the grungy factory walls above them.

We hope you enjoy these scenes and discussions as much as we enjoy bringing them to you! Check out our newest announcements in the recent New Product Express video.
