Critters, Growlers, and Goats
No matter what you call them switchers are the unsung workhorse locomotives of the railroad. This fine collection of yard engines was spotted on the Boston & Maine layout built by @ironroadmodels.
Ready for the Mill
One of the neat things about modeling the steel industry is the variety of specialized railcars that worked the mills and other related facilities. The cars above carried slag, a molten byproduct of steelmaking, in their ladles, which would then be dumped in a pit. Rico de Vries did a fine job weathering these HO scale slag cars.
Fill’er Up!
From filling the sandboxes to topping off the tanks, the crew at an engine terminal is always busy keeping the diesel fleet running smoothly. This detailed scene is part of the excellent Missouri Pacific layout built by @mopacmike.
A Perfect Summer House
With its large picture windows and wraparound deck, this modern house would be a fun place for a family barbeque. This scratchbuilt model is one of the latest creations from talented modeler Kathryn Asbahr.
Terrific Trestle
This scratchbuilt masterpiece took its builder more than 4 months to complete. Click on the white arrows to see more views of the project. You can also follow @cov_railroad to check on the progress of the HO scale Cumberland & Ohio Valley RR.
